anatomy & friends 

plantar aponeurosis 

grounding me; toes wriggling beneath earth that has become unfamiliar 

replaced by concrete jungles; 

a spider web of blinding smiles, crow’s feet, one-sided dimples 

reflecting the sun’s rays 

providing warmth in this icebox 

extensor retinaculum 

e x t e n d 

         yourself, 

    they say 

boomerang 

returning to the eye of the storm 

enveloped by fragments chaos  

protection granted through the wind, 

the breath, 

of those I cherish 

retina(culum); close enough 

eyes perceive 

brain thinks 

heart feels 

grateful
